Philip Morris International’s South Korean factory has launched a new production line.
In order to expand the production of IQOS ILUMA series tobacco pellets: “TEREA” and “SENTIA” for heating tobacco products.
Non combustible products account for 60% of the total production, and about 30% of the products are exported to 12 Asian countries, aiming to build the factory into a global export base.

- Philip Morris International’s Liangshan factory in South Korea has launched a new production line with an annual capacity of 40 billion cigarettes, mainly producing IQOS series cartridges “TEREA”, “SENTIA” and traditional cigarettes.
- Non combustible products account for 60% of the production, mainly due to their high export proportion. Currently, about 30% of the products are exported to 12 Asian countries, including Japan.
- The Liangshan factory will be developed into a global export base for heated tobacco and a key production center for Philip Morris International to promote its “smoke-free future” strategy.

The company plans to promote “TEREA” and “SENTIA” as representative heating tobacco products of the factory, and plans to build its factory into a global export base. Currently, about 30% of the products produced by the factory are exported to 12 Asian countries, including Japan.
The relevant person in charge stated that the high production proportion of heated tobacco products is due to its higher export proportion than traditional cigarettes, and the Liangshan factory is also the core production site for Philip Mo International to achieve its vision of a “smoke-free future”.
The factory is not only responsible for the production of traditional cigarettes such as Marlboro and Paramount, but also produces IQOS ILUMA series specialized cartridges “TEREA” and “SENTIA”, with a production ratio of 6:4 between non combustible and combustible products. Philip Morris Korea Company introduced that it is the only heating tobacco production base in East Asia.
